'i'm tired- but i said i'd do all these clothes'
'humm'
'hey here you go make yourself useful'
*looks down at a basketful of socks*
'there's so many socks'
'yeah dad came up here once when i was sorting out socks, and he said between our place and yours we own all the socks in the world.'
'haha, but how does that translate in vietnamese? i translated it in my head and it doesn't sound like something he'd say.'
'uhhh well i can't remember what he said, but it was like that....'
'-like het doi trong tai voi... see he wouldn't say that!' (vietnamese by really bad phonics- shut up i'm oztrayleeun)
'Shut up. He did okay. Maybe he said in all the shops, we own all the socks from the shops. That means the same thing, it means we own all the new socks in the world. See.'
'Hahaha okay then, This reminds me of when i was little, i used to do socks when i was little- i forgot about that.'
'Yes we all had to do socks, because we own all the socks in the world.'
'none of these socks match!'
'I know, i don't know where they have all gone, but those are the single socks i keep because they're still good, like still new. Socks are so expensive!'
'uhhh yeaaahhh...'
*pauses and looks at Vinnie contemplating whether or not to continue with the conversation*
'.... *reluctantly* i had this idea, that maybe i could start up something where everyone can send all their single socks- coz you know like everyones always got these single socks that they dont know what to do with- and i mean we all shop at the same shops and how many different pairs of socks can there be? I was wondering if all these random strangers sent me their socks- how many pairs can i make? I mean i'd have to be able to pair up SOME at least right?...'
'Uhhhh ewww why would you want strangers socks?'
'Well they'd be washed first, so they're clean socks, and when we pair em up - we can like give them to orphans - in cold countries where they wear socks... not like in hot places where their feet would just get sweaty.... and with the single socks, we can open a factory- making sock animals and puppets to sell. For charity.'
'Uhh yeah- you're weird!'
'I think its a great idea!'
'it sounds okay, but who would be bothered to send you socks?'
'I don't know maybe we can have collection spots, where people can just go drop them off. There's gotta be like Millions of dollars worth of single socks out there- socks are expensive you know!'
'Millions of dollars worth of socks? There are no more pairs! and Now i'm sleepy!'
'I know that basket drives me crazy i don't know where all the socks are, but there's like hundreds of dollars worth of socks there, we are wealthy in socks.- don't tell anyone we are sock rich.'
'Haha, yeeessss... *looks at all the socks spread out around her*'
'When we collect all the socks we can spread the sock wealth even though according to dad we already have all the socks in the world.'
*silence*
'You're really pretty and smart' (may or may not have been said)
'Thanks, stop trying to get in my good books because i am rich in socks.'
Vinnie: *looks at the socks again*
'I think i want to roll in them.'
This actually did happen- i have photographic evidence:
Bahaha we had a quiet one today- just the usual groceries and then a visit to the Morrises, where they watched the kids and fed them- and Zane and i had naps on the couch!! Frikken AWESOME. i love the Morisses.
The kids had an supermega awesome weekend, where they loved swimming at Uncle Daves (Dave Tiv woke up this morning and asked first for her recorder (thanks Tram) and then whether we were going to Uncle Daves again today). Then their favourite parts of today- were Trampolines and Che added playing Beyblades.
Zane enjoyed his lunch immensely which was good to see- and he even took a photo of it for the project. Haha i love sunny weekends, and the millions of pretty images they provide.
Cheeers to awesome weekends
