Myyyyyyy head hurts!!!!!!!! I implore.
I want to keep all my gratitude to myseeeeeeeeelffffffffff today! I declare.
Boo, hiss and kapooey. Haha, we are in a dingey little apartment in Darling harbour, that i booked at the last minute - so we could stay out in the city after Family Day at Zanes work... well its not too bad the kids love it. They love the dangerous looking stairs and Che inquired 'Is this our new home dad?' Happily as he slid up and down them.
Tivi, being the urban princess she is, declared she would like to stay for 4 weeks, and if that was too long- Just one week please.
Haha already this one Friday has blown our budget sky high... but like i said to Zane when he muttered disagreement to overpriced light sabers (i know right, there's no such thing as an OVERPRICED ligh saber! It's a LIGHT SABER dude!!) ... haha anyway i says to Zane i says, we've never been out to the big city like this as a family, so just CHILLAX bro.
Haha, anyway sorry for the absence, i've been busy rearranging the house and fixing my husbands shonky wardrobe building. Haha... i hope its still standing when we get home!! Hahaha kidding kidding. You know you're my world. LOL
I will do a weekend wrap when we get home i'm using the net over my mobile connection (thats how dedicated i am to this blogging business) and we have a big day tomorrow... i'm coming down with something coz my heads achey and my nose is blocked... but still i'm here for your blog reading pleasures.
I took a tonne of photos today but they're all on V's camera and i didnt bring a USB cable Haha there are some from Zane's phone and that will have to do for now.
We came out from the sticks of Canley Vale, with the rooms that still look like a bomb exploded in the closet splashing debris of clothing all over the joint... out to the bright lights of Sydney town for this:
The American Express - Family Day.
Zane was all nervous excited, he denies it but i know he was coz he gets the paranoids about being late and tells the kids repeatedly to hurry hurry we dont have time this morning.
Hehe - but we made it and the kids got to see where their daddy ran off to every weekday. They were dressed to impress, heads turned and popped over cubicles and oohs and ahhs how cute are they(s)! were heard as we trawled the floors, meeting Zanes workmates who didnt have families there and had to actually do some work!
There were balloon animals and swords, face painting, food, colouring in and sunshine and the kids were shy but warmed up just as we were leaving... as they do... haha but as a bonus, Zane was given the rest of the day off so it's an awesome long long weekend for him!
We pulled Uncle Mike outta work and went to lunch, then went back to the apartment where Jacie napped and Che and Tiv played on the stairs and various things in their new 'home'.
They are used to relocations from our year in NZ where home was whereever we slept that night... and i like the fact that for them, as long as we were all together it didnt matter where we slept.
Home is indeed where the childrens is.
It has been a most excellent start to the long weekend. The kids have loved every minute of it, i'll show you how much in the photos tomorrow when we get home to stable connections and Usb cable availability.
Highlights were, when Tivi pointed to a water Taxi and said - Thats a Taxi! and Zane asked how she knew, and she said she sounded out the word and it says Taxi!
Awesomeness, my daughter can read.
Watching them run around and chase seagulls and climb ledges was also very cool, being in the city makes me happy... i love wandering streets and i see that same affection for soaking in the random sights and sounds in Tivianh. She loves the city. She loves watching people and knowing that life happens in this crazy, noisy way outside of routines and the quietness of our days, she loves it the way i love it. Just knowing that there's somewhere, where people arent asleep and there's things to see and do. I know she'll be right at home in the bright lights, shimmering glamour and big dreams of any city in the world.
I loved that just now as i was sitting there typing Che woke up from a coughing spell, (he bought home from childcare a bad cough and school photos yesterday) and called out to me, and when i came up to lay down next to him he whispered, I love you mummy.
Dawww aint you the sweetest thing.
I love Jacies laugh... and it amused me a little i must admit that he threw Che's balloon sword on the floor and smiling a wicked smile stomped on it! Hahaha what on earth possessed him to do such a thing i dont know but his smile was just so gleeful i laughed a little whilst telling a frowning and confused Che that it was okay and we'd get another one... (which we did thanks to two generous boys and their mother).
For Che, this was the favourite of his day- the balloon swords, oooh and the light sabers!
Hehe Tivi's was also the light saber, she said MY favourite part was being allowed to get the light sabers, which she almost wasnt coz their daddy was being frugal after our feasting at Pancakes on the Rocks.
Haha... Jacies favourite was watching macqueen and fin missile. Even though we didnt watch that andhavent in months and months!!
Zanes was showing off his family at work.
For me, it was good to finally get out of the house, and even though i had to swallow the fact that the rooms are incomplete and messy still, i'm glad we're out here and not home.... i needed some time out and the forced leaving til later is a good exercise in resilience.
Meeting his colleagues was fun, they are lovely people who finally got to see zanes collections of photos in real time and gushed over how cute and cool they were. Zane was full of pride, and Jacie waved and hi fived them all like the celebrity he was born to be.
Tivi got the excuse to donn on her new skirt and shirt and show off to a whole new adoring crowd, she was shy as she can be surprisingly sometimes... but beautiful with the sunshine in her hair and the curiousity in her eyes.
Che, followed, explored and quietly enjoys everything, his face lit up when holding his light saber... both literally and figuratively- haha he had said earlier while watching TV in the apartment and seeing an add for a much more expensive light saber... I wish i had one of those mum.
Well, sometimes i am the granter of wishes, the reality maker of dreams.
Sometimes i am the comfort, the thing that makes it okay when they wake up not recognising the bed, the room or the 'home' they're in.
Sometimes i'm the voice, that tells him to stop. To stop yelling and look where he is, to stop thinking about what could happen and just let them be, to slow down because even though its taking ages to get from one place to another they look nice, running around this city- being them and being marvelous at it.
Sometimes - i'm just me. Tired and unsure about all this responsibility, but excited and amused by the possibilities.
It's the end of September, the end of our first month documenting the things that make us, US- and the awesomeness that is the center and on the edges of that.
They are growing day by day, discovering the things that will shape their lives and create their worlds. Every experience they have, alters mine... and if it isn't obvious by now, for 'Them' i am most thankful.
