haha Che popped his head in as i was sitting down typing some random thing so that i wouldn't forget it and said the above.
Well in answer to that dear child, i am doing this so that you will have a year of awesome memories to look back upon and know that your life was good and you did not suffer the emotional scarring and repressed issues at my hands. For at least this year we will only document rainbows and butterflies, and each time in the years to come- that you think to complain, i will direct you to this here loveliness and point out i did nothing but nurture and feed thy spirit with fun times and uplifting activities.
Haha- i've refrained from documenting our everyday doings with the camera- coz that was soooo last week. And this week energy wise- it's been a struggle...
I started this as i always do- with such enthusiasm that it was bound to burn out sooner rather than later... haha - when i'm capturing them in still life- i'm not involved in what it is they do- just observing - seeing pretty pictures. And i've missed the camera so i enjoyed last week muchly.
The week goes on- and i need to put the camera (phone) away, because laundry and dishes and general weekday things catch up with you when you neglect them to have weekend fun and indeed the world does not fall apart if we let the house become untidy, but i've grown accustomed to having things a certain way and i find myself flustered when its out of place and messed up.
But anyhoo, Cat tells me if i think of this nightly blogging as a chore, then it will become one. I am more aware of negative thoughts and how thinking such things leads to such things- but dudeeeeeeeeee some nights i'm seriously falling asleep at the keyboard... haha its not that i don't have anything to be thankful for. Not that i don't have anything good to say- just that after everything involved with fun having and the cleaning up after the having of fun - then preparing for the next day of funness- haha i run outta time and energy by i dunno 9-ish and i just wanna make like a coma patient.
So anyhoos- i did a list before we started this of things that are fun to do- and things i've always thought would be cool to do with the kids.
A lot happens in a year within this microcosmic realm of miniture people and infinite possibilities. Here are some of the dreams we will be a dreaming.
Lately The weather calls for
- Park crawls.
- swimming
- beaches
- bike rides
- playdates
- tea parties
- picnics
Project days such as
- Flowers for old folks day: Because we love old people. They are funny and like to pinch cheeks at the supermarket and freak the kids out with random stoppings and ramblings about cute kids. I would love to storm a shopping center with the kids, handing out daisys to old people. Especially the grouchy looking ones teheheheehe
- Lollies for little people day: I know the general rule is not to accept lollies from strangers, but what if the strangers are little people? Haha i dunno kids aren't as cool as old people, but they deserve happiness too!
- Art in the park days - PAINTING and PARKS! Mindblowing combination- but we want easels and canvas and smocks with lil french barrets, palettes brimming with colours. We do this we do it pros bros.
- Balloons are awesome day: I love balloons. I love Helium balloons. I love balloons on sunny days floating in the air attached to a childs hands. I carry unblown up ballooons with me in my handbag on any given day. Because balloons are wonderful distractions. I think they deserve an entire day of worship.
- Super Dooper Heroes day: we've seen superheroes. But we dream big here, we want to be super DOOPER heroes. And yes we will hit the streets and do good deeds. Because with great costumes come great responsibility.
- Letters (week?): we are so bad at keeping in touch so we need to write to all the people we miss- all the family in NZ and Melbourne, our sponsored child and even Aunty Christina in the Canadian outback. Hahaha... there are so many so we will dedicate a week to the writing project.
- Helping day: Where we are extra specially helpful to the people who need helping. If you need helping, and it is a PG type of helping you need, you may start applying for our expert help program.
- Compliments day: where we will just say and write nice things about people. ALl people, even strangers we see on the street. We will walk up and tell them that they look very pretty like a grape in that purple dress. Or we will put notes in the letterboxes of people who have nice flowers in their garden.
It's not my Birthday Day! Haha i want cakes and candles, and presents, and lolly bags and party hats. Whose birthday? NOBODIES! WHo says we need a day to tell us when to celebrate our births?! NOT US. Let us eat cake peoples with candles to blow out. Just coz we can yo.
- Learn about a historical event day! Because we are learned and love the learning and maybe it will tie in with our
-PUT ON A PLAY day haha this might involve weeks of prep but we'll do it surely.
- A little bit Fancy day: where we dress up put on our pearls and do our hair and put on our button up shirts and sip tea with our pinkies in the air. Because its nice to be a little bit fancy sometimes.
In the next 365 (359) days we would also like to
Visit many libraries
museums
see live theatre.
go camping
enter a competition
go for a long car ride
make a time capsule
bake cookies (Cat will make this happen tomorrow woot woot)
plant something
see fireworks!
make a video
give something away
make a scupture
paint a mural (pending Ong Ngoais approval to graffitti his walls downstairs.)
build a cardboard box city
visit an orphanage (in vietnam most likely)
do a science project
find out what adults do
make a family tree
and so so much more...
Those are just SOME of the ideas we have. I asked Zane and Dave what they always wanted to do as kids. Zane said fly a plane... haha dave said play outside or build a diarrama.
Helpful. I'm grateful for that. But moving on now....
anyone else got any ideas? ANyone wanna join us? anyone wanna volunteer to share in the happy joys of childhood??
Haha don't worry i will enlist volunteers when we get to the days where volunteers are needed. so prepare yourselves for funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn peeps!!
hahaha i'm just reminded of the awesome song we used to sing at MMC mass- Oneeee by oneee we'll join together twooo byyy twooo coz we're kinda like that song right- cept for the jesus bits.
Tehehe anyhoots. This has cheered me up some and re-energised me for future THEY & i doings.... so thankyou blog and thank you cat for reminding me to change the way i see this tiresome nightly chore. Hahaha kidding kidding. its too awesome i can hardly contain myself.
today we are grateful for

Here is what they Look like today:
A merry night to all.
Vien, this comment is for all the entries you have written in your blog. It's a damn fantastically great blog Vien!
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me, motivated me and reminded me to get off my lazy lady of leisure ass and do all the things that I used to do, wanted to do, meant to do, but never got around to do it.
Cat, if you're reading this, I am now putting it down in words in Vien's blog! Can't take it back and wont hit delete! :))
Vien, you have always mesmerized me with your crazily happy and beautifully sad aura. I knew you carried around an invisible bag, along with your colouful quilted bag from Japan that I still want. I am grateful you're allowing us ordinary sane people to have a look inside your invisible bag that is, (let's not get confused about all the bags that you carry). It is a world full of colourful balloons! You blow one up and let it fly, then you blow another one and let it fly too and another and another. On and on it goes. Soon you'll be polluting our sky up there though, but damn, what a sight when you look up and see the world of Vien. Magical, beautiful, colourful, mesmerizing, touching and more...
I have so much more shit to say, but for now all I wanna say is this:
"You're one hell of a bag lady Vien!!!"
Bonsai out ;)
Bahahaha it's all the drugs i take to maintain my hot 'junkie' look! lol *licks and kicks to the shins* yeah dude you need to get the heck off your ass and do something already - you could be making at least 20cents a garment at a sweatshop dude! haha serious wastage!
ReplyDeleteLol no seriously, go use those moisturised idle lady hands of yours to create pretty things for the world to ooh and ahh over. Because you're wasting all that skill and talent sittin in a cane chair admiring midget plants. Haha... love you dudes.
Woohoo, I'm famous on Vien's blog! You know that if you love, you care, and if you care, you share, so hand over some of the drugs you're licking and sucking on missy! I'm gonna need it to get excited over my paycheck of 20cents a garment (speaking of which I'm being underpaid by my brother! He's paying me 10cents!)
ReplyDeleteYes seriously, I have been inspired by you for real and have already put in great effort to write my blog. I'm proud to say it now has 2 post up and running ;) I will continue though to sit in my cane chair, admiring midget plants AND blogging at the same time! It's all about multitasking and sucking in the fresh air of nature, feeding the brain in hope of some creative ideas in return.
Bonsai forever! xx :P
