It is always a good start with pancakes right??? Haha pancakes, sunshine, and a promise of cookery and Fajitas.
Tivi put on the party hat she got from Miss Hovens birthday party at school and ate her pancakes while dancing to Katy Perry's -'Firework'
Dancing and party hats, how could this day get any better.
But better it did - thank you to Tran Vu who left a lovely message on my facebook wall, and to her genetic relations Dani and Jamie (and my always beautiful Marii) who also accept my madness for what it is- a skip and a hop along this crazy thing called life, making up the rules and realities as i go.
Haha Thank you for the comment you left here on this green and growing page of ours Dani. I think you might be carrying some bags of your own and may carry them straight to the looney bin like that old lady from Great Expectations hahaha the crazy one, if you're not careful and waste your talents being a leisurely madame with bonsai kids and plants.
Thank you Jamie and Robyn for these delightful gifts.
(and Cat for the cow bell! haha coolness) Jamie you are incredible and your kids are testament to this amazing ability of yours to look calmly on life and carry on with a grace and poise that makes me even stop for a few minutes to appreciate the skill and patience required in the making, baking and creating of delicious and marvelously beautiful treats to cheer up and nourish all those around you. (Before i just shove them into my mouth and grab another to go.)
Robyn has got to be the most talented, well mannered, sweet and beautiful little girl i know. And Erik although he sidesteps away from me and pretends not to be associated with my blabberings around him- haha he smiles sometimes when we talk and i know he secretly loves me.
I can never thank you Trinhs enough for the warmth that is your family, the open doors and open insults and the knowledge that once you are friends with the Trinh family you get all the perks that come with that. The free tailoring, the free food, the free friendship, the second family.
A bow and a tip of the hat to you my lovely ladies.
Now back to the day- haha Che and Stella would not stop ranting about their fun day at Aunty Cats. Jacie just says random things like stir it mum? and goggyyy mum...
Che was reluctant to get out of the car but once he was there, he couldn't resist the fun.
We had our chef gear ready. Stella declared we were Master Cheffing.
We did our FUN DAY huddle, we mixed, we mashed, we mueslied. We tasted everything with our hands and might possibly have drooled into the bowl a little (thanks Jace)
And when we were done a-making Cat made us lunch. Coz she's frikken awesome. Haha my phone battery was dying so i switched to Cats for photos but couldn't resist a few of the kids in the backyard, in the sunshine playing like they do- young, worry free, beautiful little creatures, dressed in blue skies and shiney innocence.
And after she fed us, we sat on the grass and soaked in the rays and while we talked of world issues and intellectual discoveries, (shut up thats what we talk about okay) - Stella slow-ate her lunch and the boys climbed over me, throwing grass in my hair and laughing their insane joyous laughter.
I had some surreal moments coz i couldnt remember the last time we sat in Cats backyard, i dont think we ever did in the daylight- we were always holed up in her room talking our secret talks and making our grand plans. It was strange sitting there with her feeling like we've always felt- like there was so much we could do- if only this sun didn't feel so nice and we weren't so full and lazy right now- while they climbed on my lap and back and giggled in my ears.
Hehehe thats how i felt anyway... i can't speak really for Cat, she was chillaxed to the max out there, contemplating the world and taking photos of the strangeness that was- the oddness of familiar places with the unfamiliar sound of Mummmmaaaaaaa!!!!! and tiny hands pulling my neck and arms and showering my messed up hair with green confetti and dirt... haha wondering how it happened to be like this, and all at once not minding at all that it was.
Thank you Cat, for always being around to share in the moments with me. The crazy times, the sad times, the surreal and the too real times, all the years where at every turn, you'd always come to meet me in between with a conversation, food and the philosophical we'll be alrite knowledge that we always shared over the years, the countless inspired nights and the exhausted next days... haha and we'd always come back to the dreams of freedom.
We'll get there one day. Perhaps we're closer than we realize, and my friend, i always thought you would be so absolutely unstoppable if you had the power of everyone elses faith in you. Maybe sometimes you gotta stop listening to those voices in your head, and start taking inventory of all the people in your life, and how you've built these relationships so well that everyone who knows you loves you unconditionally, this i can guarantee. Because thats how you love them.
Thank you for the brilliant day. For the memories you've given the kids who adore you despite the killer furball with the ponytail freaking them out. Thanks for spending your dads anniversary day with us. You paid tribute to him so justly by showing him what an amazing adult you've become and that he had a hand in creating a person as beautiful as you are, must be an awesome thing to behold from where ever he is watching you...
Love you muchly and
thank you for the muesli! And cookies! And happiness. *licks*
And to Cats mum, it's always lovely to see you, i never know what language to speak to you in and its awesome to have a mum that i can alternate languages with who still understands me haha...
Eddie, it was really nice to see you too! Love that the kids warm up to you so much quicker than usual and when you ask how we are, you actually Want to know. Also i love that you sat in the same room when taking your phone calls, talking while the kids literally ran in circles around you screaming and squealing their crazy hour madness- and you didn't seem to notice at all and looked slightly confused when i apologised for the noise... what noise? Haha...
Too much awesomeness to contain in one short day.
Che said his favourite was just going to Aunty Cats, when i asked him what about Aunty Cats did he like most, he said- he just liked being at Aunty Cats.
Jacie said Stir, and goggy (which is the Doggy- Bella) who caused him to run in tears several times. Haha love and fear- fine lines and same sameness.
Tivi who missed out on this fun on account of school, graciously took her cookies and said her favourite was at school they learnt about Dogs and pets and how they shouldn't touch dogs who aren't on leashes and shouldn't tease animals. I love that schools are keeping up with the times.
*licks Drools and cookie coated dreams to you all*
