Legends and Milestones.

Oh my god, i love this show:

Hahaha you don't have to watch it, but it's awesome. I can't tell you how many of my childhood hours were spent watching this show, much of my understanding of Vietnamese comes from watching movies with my mum and my only memory of my grandmother was watching it with her in the two weeks or so she came to visit before she went back to Vietnam... and died.

When i was pregnant with Che, i found mums old VCDs and tried to watch it again but the disks would freeze and skip which was a shame. Haha... i don't even know what reminded me of them tonight but there it is- some of my best times ever. Mum and i used to watch video upon video of Vietnamese Dubbed TVB series while we did housework... even right into my teens and possibly my early 20's haha... but The 80's version of Legend of the Condor Heroes. My favourite.

We used to play act afterwards, haha heal each other with our palms, make people frozen with our two fingers haha and die with a line of blood dripping out one corner of our mouths.

Haha Awesome times.

I miss those days sometimes... i wish i could sit around and watch videos all day and feel grotty and bleary eyed by evening time.

Hehe i'm thankful to Youtube for giving people the avenue to remember these things together.

Che's Favourite part today was getting a present from Miss Maria (it was his and Stellas last day of Childcare at Little Gems).

Tivi's favourite part was being at Aunty Phuongs house

Jacies was Go AUnty Phuongs, watch TV.

Sorry it's 1.40 and i need to sleep coz its still school holidays. I'll write something real soon :) Hehe... just conserving energy.

Maria from Childcare, gave Che a present he loved, a suitcase of Transformer pencils and textas and colouring in stuff. She wrote a card that was sweet and genuine. And i'm thankful Che met her, and she's right he has grown into a confident little man.

Thanks Little Gems for the experiences you gave the kids, and i'm sorry they have to leave now that they're sooo comfortable there but onwards and upwards to new adventures we go!!

Vietnam in 15 days!! YEEEEk and yays!!

Merry Thursdays just gone and happy Friday - eve before christmas eve. :)

Oh and let me end with this amusing anecdote about me and the sensitive issues of being a parent:

Che walking into the toilet while i was changing my pad (for those of you without kids, the toilet is not a private place, its a place where children often come to find you to chat about things, while you're indisposed and unable to run away, and no, closing the door doesn't stop this occurring, locking it only invites disaster outside and you not getting your ass there on time haha...)

Che: What are you doing mum?
Me: Uhhh changing my nappy!
Che: what? why have you got a nappy??
Me: Coz uhh i'm bleeding?
Che: Alarmed "What????"
Me: uhh its okay its like a band aid
Che: WHAT??
Zane walking in and rolling his eyes: Oh my god, stop telling them these things!
Me: But why? he needs to know i guess!
Zane: But not that you're putting on a band aid because you're bleeding down there?!
Me: Hahaha but what am i supposed to say
Che: staring at us both
Zane: Not that!
Me: Fine. That's a pad Che, i'm changing my pad because i have my period.
Zane: that's better.

Che: *confused*

Hehahahahahaha- yes, i'm good at explaining the birds n bees, or rather in our place, the doodles and Rhinos.... lol i'm awesome at the good honest truth about life matters with my kids. Now, pardon me while i go change my band aid. Hahaha...

ANd on that note May your days be merry and bright...!
