things you can do

So while on my camping trip with Dave he asked me if i would like to go hunting/shooting etc. It made me think of a time when Viens asked me the same. Would I like to do target shooting.

I decided that YES, yes Dave I do want to do target shooting. I always have but I guess its one of those things your not really sure how you would go about getting started so you just never do.

I decided when i got home and played some more BF3 and 90% of the time i run around with my sniper rifle in the game. Hey i can actually learn how to shoot these things for real, now that would be the meanest.

Well I looked around for some clubs because, the one thing I did know was in order to have a Firearms License you need to be a member of a firearms club. So I looked at many and found BCRC Bankstown Chatswood Rifle Club.

These guys sound really cool and easy going , very friendly. I liked the funny comments like this from there 20 Steps to Your License.

7. Post your application registered post to the registry.

While you're waiting...

11. Look longingly at guns in gun shops, catalogs and magazines

15. When the mailman turns up with your photo advice pull a sickie and go to the RTA and get your licence.

16. Make use of the rest of your day off (or wait impatiently for the weekend) and go visit some gun shops and handle some of their guns for the first time.

17. Put down a deposit on something totally unsuitable but which you really really want.

I cracked up at this and i was sold, these are the people for me. So i took the first step that I probably never would have if it wasnt for my wife & this blog and the things we are trying to do to better ourselves and nto let anything stop us.

So this Friday 23rd of December I completed the first step.

1. Contact the firearms Registry and ask them to send out the application form and genuine reason forms.

I felt really good and excited that I had started this voyage and i cannot wait until step 20.

I have been researching equpment and options etc while I wait for the application forms for my firearms license.  I got this Ballistics table and I got really excited because i actually understood hwo to use it quite quickly.

I have also found a rifle. This is going to be something I have to work towards, but I think its good to visualise the outcome and have goals. So here is my goal and my rifle of choice. This is the standard factory rifle of course it will be fitted with a scope and bipod.

Savage 12 Palma.
