Due to husbands that are unable to slumber from being sick - who require me to scratch his head and back to get him to sleep. (nothing else you dirty minded dirty minds!) Haha... i'm gonna leave this short n sweet.
The kids have been home most of the week whilst Jacie and Zane have been ill, they get a little stir crazy but there are magical times when they laugh hysterically at each other, today they made up their own games while i changed all their sheets. They got haircuts - all off and cool and ready for Vietnam.
Zane took them for a walk and they got Red Lea chips. Hehe highlights of childhoods in THA hood. Haha Zane made us millionaires with a single currency exchange.
We limited TV watching to ONE movie. We made origami pistols. They shot each other with paper guns.
We also bought many many bags of these:
haha, because we are going to the orphanage and its Tet, and we thought it would be fun to give the kids some money- chocolate money. Coz it's cheaper than real money haha...
I hope it doesn't all melt in our bags and be all gross, but that was one of my brilliant ideas- i kept getting told i shouldn't give money to the kids on the street. And i really have problems saying no when people ask me- so i thought maybe i can give them chocolate money that would be fun wouldn't it??
My sisters just give me odd looks.
Cept for Vinnie, she said 'Just do it.'
She's all Nike like that.
But yeah - i'm on a new fad this year- i think of so many ideas that i think would be nice, or fun, or cool- and i think of people when i see certain objects and i always think wow! they would love that.
Those thoughts often just get put aside, because that would be too weird, or there's so many other people i should get stuff for first... or this that and the other thing.... but you know what, at the end of the day, like i told Yummii and John, it's not the thought that counts, its what you do with it. :) [sidenote: John, (via Yummii) if u want to get me a 'small something' on your travels... make it a picture, of the two of you- paying it forward. Haha.. do something cool for someone else. Give me the photo and a story! A little more to ask than buying something but many times more awesome. I know you guys wouldn't have a problem finding some way to make someone grin a crazy grin. Haha bring me back a smile from a stranger, that would be really cool!]
All those things i wish for people, all the random times where i think of them- when i see or hear or do something that reminds me for some reason of some moment we shared, when i'm filled with great appreciation for their part in my story- I'm gonna try, and actually capture them, and send those thoughts to those that they belong to... i always thought, maybe if everyone knew, the power of someone elses faith in them- or how lovely they are from someone elses view- maybe.... the world wouldn't be such a shitty confused place.
So as silly as it may be- i'm handing out chocolate coins to street kids and orphans, because all the cash i have (not much) won't change their world, but maybe a smile- an oddity- a small and sweet suggestion... might start them smiling- Dreaming of things outside of the everyday.
And i'm going to be sending things, sometimes just words, sometimes strange objects... when i come across that moment, or that thing... and no matter how odd it may appear or how warped my recollection may be of any particular time, just know behind it- is just a thank you, for being a memory that i love.
Hey, this reminds me CHRIS i have your chicken salt!! haha but i was waiting to get something else then totally forgot about it, you'll have to wait til after Vietnam now! i'll send you some cool suvenir too! Don't think i've forgotten you! i haven't! haha love you long times bro.
Haha, i look forward to 2012 as a year of not questioning my sanity, but indulging in its digressions.
haha wow i got carried away here and Zane is sighing, unable to sleep because no one is scratching his head or back... Thanks JODIE for getting him used to that! Haha... sorry husband.
Goodnight lovelies!

"...And i'm going to be sending things, sometimes just words,"...
ReplyDeleteI started taking on this mantra you created.. and i had 2 thoughts about 2 different people (not close friends) who I appreciated something about them and admired what they were doing. Thanks to you, I took action and sent them a note saying hi and acknowledging them :)
I do hope it made their day...! :)
Vien Luong Likes this. Thumbs uP! haha - changing the world- one random thought at a time. I like it!
