I came out of the shower - just shortly after 1am- (yes i shower late. I do everything late. or just really really early. You know what they say about early birds. They're always frikken tired later on... hehe ) i came outta the shower to find this- in the living room.
Jacie has been a sort of surprise- ever since he was a baby- he shared our bed- when he got his own probably over a year ago now- in the middle of the night he always somehow ended up back in ours. When we got back from Vietnam- i decided enough- and when he came to our bed- i carried him back to his. He cried and cried and i sat with him for a little bit told him no, this is your bed, you stay in it.
Since that night he's slept in his own bed, he's woken up- come out- walked around for a bit and gone back to his own bed - never into ours. I mused over this the first few nights he did it- thought he'd somehow manage to get back in here- but he never did.
Hehe- finding him out on the cushion tonight made me think - haha wow little dude- you really do listen. I told him he wasn't sleeping in my bed anymore- so he never came in to find me. He just crashed in the living room where the light was still on. It's funny how the kids sometimes can tell when i'm not kidding - and they don't break my rules for anything. It's funny when and which of these times they choose to listen.
I don't understand how it works. Hehe 5 years in and still a n00b.
I skipped this blog, yesterday choosing sleep. Rare.. And yet still tired in the morning - i shun it tonight. Hehe yesterday (and Today) i kept Tivs at home. She's had a fever for just over a week- be it a mild one that somehow pops up at night. Her throat was sore and she developed my cough- a throat infection said the Doc - antibiotics.
I wish i had taken my camera to the Doctors -where we entertained ourselves to the amusement or annoyance of the full waiting room - by playing scissors paper rock, simon says, guess which hand i have the money in - and 'look and find' in the magazines. Haha yeah- it was either a long wait or its their short attention spans.
They were cute though... cept when i asked them to find 'something you can drink' in the magazines they had - Che flipped through til he got to a page of Bras and yelled BOOOBBBIES! haha which sparked a fit of giggles in the girls- loving the laughs he continued to say announce he'd found boobies! and proceeded to turn the page - point at a picture of a chubby pregnant lady and yell 'FAT LADY!' which caused Stella to erupt again with loud and hysterical laugher.
Apart from that- we had fun there. Afterwards walking back home - we stopped in at the Aquarium- where the guy knows me as - the girl who has a bizzillion kids and thinks a fish shop is a good enough substitute for Sydney Aquarium. Haha we hold hands and wander through - ooohing and ahhing at pretty fish and different coloured fish - and pointing and bullying the weird looking ones. Making them all self conscious about their googly eyes or bubble heads. What?? it's okay they have short memories, no long term emotional scarring!
Hehe, after we fair welled the gracious owners of The Aquarium - we marched along hand in hand and on a spur of the moment i led them across the road where we entered Tee's Cupcakes.
Tivianh - being sick and all requested a hot milo, and perhaps a cake. 4 hot chocolates and 4 cupcakes- and 28 dollars later, they sat down and proceeded to smear icing all over their faces and table and leave a bazzillion crumbs on the floor. Haha the guy as he put down the plate- did shake his head and say 'this is gonna be messy!' haha... upon leaving we picked up our takeaway 'Coffees' and thanked him - i threw in an apology about the table - and chairs - and floor. Haha... and off they went- a takeaway coffeee cup each...
We got stopped outside of the cupcake shop by a lady oohing and cooing at how cute they were and the inevitable question of "are they all yours?' hehe... yeah these three n thats my niece.. she did the next popular question of 'How old are they?' - '5,4 and 2'... wow she said and held up a thumb as she walked away, 'you're amazing!' hahaha Damn straight stranger. Recognise.
I ran up when we got home to grab my camera - and took some photos of them sipping away on the stairs and cheer'sing as you do... they looked like lil socialite yuppies. on the dirty staircase haha...
to continue this 'grown uppy' theme - i made them snacks - first just grapes, cheese and crackers... juice with straws and strawberries on the side of the cup.
Whist they snacked, we prepared a cinema front table - and i served them a lunch that was 'a little bit fancy'. On porcelain ware and everything! hehe
By the look on their faces you can tell they were impressed!
Hehe- they ate it all though - and napped and generally it was a great day-
This is what they looked like Monday the 6th.
Tuesday the 7th- the day just been and gone. I made her lunch for school - she came out coughing and miserable. I asked her if she would like to go to school or take one more day off to see if bedrest (which she would be banished to) would clear her up a little.
She thought long and hard about it - said i dont feel well in the mornings, but later i am okay. She choose school then changed her mind.
I put her in bed - found her old mp3 player and when i came in she looked like this.
I thought- in your teens you'll probably still be like this- enjoying your gadgets and ignoring your mother.
Thanks Aunty Vinnie (and alex) for the food drop earlier and then for coming back - and playing Ninjago with the kids - while Alex watched the killer snail with suspicion and disgust.
They love storytime- specially with Dad.
