1. I'm incredibly impatient when making stuff
2. I don't ever follow exact measurements.
3. I think duct tape is the best way to put things together because its the fastest
4. i have to shut down a part of my brain when i make stuff otherwise the image in my head and the actual product aesthetic drives me insane.
5. i never use proper safety precautions when using a Stanley knife.
6. because of this i will probably end up being one of those nannas with 3 missing fingers. Instead of a cool axe story though, my kids will have to tell their kids i hacked them off making cardboard swords.
7. after a few hours of executing the 'vision' through trial and error - it becomes all out war against time and mess is collateral damage.
8. due to the increase in mess - things get lost the moment i put them down- like right now - i have no idea where my scissors are.
9. because it gets incredibly late and i can't find the right equipment - i resort to using whatever i can find. Yes, i was just biting a piece of cardboard to get it into the right shape.
10. The mess usually causes a meltdown later in the day/week.
11. I've become incredibly relaxed about the fact that what takes me countless hours to make, can be destroyed in a matter of minutes.
12. i've gotten faster and a lot more organised when making things.
13. My kids think i can make anything out of cardboard.
14. i love boxes.
15. It is now 1.15 a.m
16. I'm still missing a pair of nun chucks.
17. I need gold spray paint.
Haha, i have amassed an impressive collection of great boxes over the past couple of days. I wanted to build the Giggle mobile. but one big enough for multiple kids. I can't transport this to the Morris household where i'm currently on School Holiday sitting the kids, so i'm still contemplating what to do.
Today i am awesomely proud of myself for this:
You kinda have to have kids to appreciate the monumental task of getting under 5's to be agreeable at nap time. I'm kinda rocking this at the moment. I'm not cocky enough to believe i've mastered the art.
and This (the left hand side stuff haha)
And i'm grateful, to the kids - for always demonstrating the power of imagination. To Phuong, who always makes sure we are fed and comfortable. To Mel, who always takes the time to swing by and say hello, (thanks for the snacks - haha no the kids didn't get any!) and to the facebook mummas, who are always around to support, entertain and amaze me with their mad skillz and saintly persistence even on 'those days'.
To the internet - for the infinite inspirations, the magnificent and the mad possibilities, the endless and achievable.
haha easing back into this- i'll let you know where i've been - soon ;)
