HAPPY BIRTH DAY! they cheer in my face.
Uhhh thanks, i once said.
I am awkward with happiness for myself.
One year i came to the conclusion that what made me happy was making other people happy.
So when before they could say Happy Birthday! i threw HAPPY MYbirthday! at them first.
Haha the kids are so excited. Happy mumsbirthday means presents for everyone! Hehehe... I haven't found anything for Zane. I haven't got anything for the girls who have been my extended family for years. I can't find the right gifts. Hmm.... hehe i need to refine my processes and better prepare for this event.
I'm trying to let Zane surprise me. I haven't asked for details. I didn't protest when he said he was taking the kids to buy gifts.
I realise i have to let people do these things, because i am hideously bad at being gracious. This is just an awkward sense of unworthiness, but it could be mistaken for ingratitude. I am trying to learn how to receive- gifts, and compliments and all those things that make me squirm.
Hehe... Che had Kindy Orientation today. He had fun despite the fact that he had a stomach ache from some bug that's been plaguing him all week.
Ahhh my middle child - full of surprises. Shy and thoughtful, careful and silly, full of insights and imagination. You're lucky to have your sister there, and your Aunty and Uncle and cousin. Hehe... it's funny but i worry less about you doing well at school than i do about your sister. You have the kind of nature built of order and instruction. She of chaos and energy. And you all remind me of bits of myself, i spent years trying to figure out.
Haha, i have to prepare for playgroup and the coming onslaught of weekend exhaustion and mandatory happiness that accompanies dates of birth.
Hehe i know you've missed them, so here's what they've been reading while i haven't been writing. Tehehe...
